You Did It. A Year-End Pause Before We Log Off

Before we log offline for the holidays, before the last bit of holiday shopping, the travel, the events, the year-end festivities — I want to offer a small challenge.

It doesn’t require a vision board, a resolution, or a five-step plan.

It requires a few minutes in real life.

Take a moment this week and tell yourself, simply and honestly: You did it.

You overcame that hard thing. You let go of the relationship, the friendship, the pattern that wasn’t serving you. You opened your heart again — even when it felt tender, even when it felt risky.

You took the walk. You got some sun. You made the toast. You cried the tear you’d been holding. You sat and did nothing all day — and let that be enough.

You went on the hike. You played with the dog. You took the date. You ate the cake. You went to the gym.

You showed up in ways big and small.

These moments matter.

So often we rush past them, minimizing what didn’t look “productive” or “impressive.” But presence is powerful. Each action — each choice to show up, rest, move, feel, or pause — is shaping the future you’re stepping into.

Presence is not passive. It’s active participation in your own life.

As the holidays arrive, gifts will be wrapped and unwrapped. Schedules will fill. Photos will be taken. But the most valuable gift available to us is still the simplest one: time. Time to be here. Time to feel. Time to notice.

Open the presents. But also open your awareness.

Be present for the laughter, the quiet, the discomfort, the joy. Be present for the ordinary moments, because they are building something extraordinary.

This is your reminder that the year didn’t pass you by. You were here. You lived it.

And that is worth celebrating.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Xx,

Sakina
